And that's what DC should stick with!! Hal Jordan ISN'T an interesting character! Bruce Wayne is! That's why the Batman movies are really good(well, expect for the late 90's ones, but let's just pretend they never happened). Bats has like the ULTIMATE origin story. And his character has been developed amazingly well over the years. What's Hal's origin? He's got willpower so he gets to be a space cop? Well okay... That's... something I guess... Contrast that with Bats, the X-Men, Spider-man, Supes, or even Kyle's origin story. That's why the inevitable Flash movie will bomb. There is no character in comics more vanilla as Barry Allen. He's a cop who runs really fast and decides to be a hero. Yeah, I want to pay $12 to watch THAT...

Lmao it's sad but so damn true. No one can really relate to that whereas people feel like they can relate to Spidey, and Superman has that power we all would love to have, and Bats is that really motivated guy with a ton of gadgets and determination so we all relate to that in a way. Whereas someone like Kyle is easier to relate to, being just a hard-working normal guy who gets a ring, not the pilot who gets all the hot women and such.

And with Supes, there's also that stranger in a strange land aspect. I mean some writers play up the "I can never fit in" aspect of Supes, which rings true with a lot of people. Kyle is a lot like Spidey origin-wise. He's a totally regular guy, nothing special about him, gets great power, fools around with it and loses somebody he loved, which teaches him that he has to try to become a better hero. That's a million times better than Hal!
