I'm on issue #3, and I'm seriously impressed. It's not "Hawkeye," but it's fun, in an in-your-face kind of way.

Agreed, I've been reading Captain Marvel since the series started a few months ago and it's pretty good. I think the first issue's fight with Cap, Cap and that big dummy whose name I can't recall (X-Man75?), really set the tone for that series and it's been flying high (horrible pun intended) since then.

I resemble that big dummy remark! Wait... That didn't come out right... Eh.
I've never been a big enough fan of Ms. Marvel to rationalize spending the money on this book... For me, I either need a great story, or a character I really like to pick a comic up. However, if this is a $2.99 book, I could be moved to pick this series up with a little convincing...

Glad to hear it, JT. I thought DeConnick managed to maneuver the time-travel story without me wanting to stab myself in the eye, which is better than 90 percent of the time-travel stories that Marvel inflicts on me. I mean, I'm not saying I didn't have moments that left me thinking, "WTF?" but overall I thought she handled it well. Plus, I liked where Carol was at the end of it.
I've never been a super Carol fan either, X, but I actually went with it just because I liked what DeConnick did on her "Avenging" appearance. So far, so good.

That's true, she handled it well and accounted for the paradox's and everything, which is all I really ask for in a good Time Travel story.

This IS a $2.99 series, isn't it? Seeing as that I'm dropping a few DC books on account of the fact that I hate DC now, I WILL have some openings on my pull list... Maybe I'll finally give this series a shot. Any suggestions on when the best jumping on point is/when the current storyarc ends?

I just checked, new arc actually starts with issue 7 from which I'm reading.

Right, JT? It's definitely one of the few time-travel stories that I've read that really addressed the paradox so well.
I would say maybe pick up the first issue if you get a chance and then start with #7. The time-travel story is more or less confined to issues #2-#6, so you can skip those. But, issue #1 goes into her decision to take the name and has a pretty great fight between her, Cap, and the Absorbing Man.
Which DC books are you dropping, X? Did I tell you I finally dropped "Superboy" and "Teen Titans?" I just couldn't do it anymore.

One more question that I could probably find out for myself by simply googling it, but I probably won't... Is #7 the current issue?
I didn't know that you dropped SB and TT, JW! I honestly can't say I'm shocked though... It's sad how many books I've dropped from DC since the reboot. I'm down to Nightwing, Red Hood, Batman, TT, SB, JLD, I, Vampire, Stormwatch and Team 7. Grifter is getting cancelled soon, so that's there for another two months(I think). I had been getting 24 DC books last August. And tbh, I'm leaning towards dropping JLD, I, Vampire, probably SB and possibly Nightwing(even though I really don't want to!) and Team 7. I've kind of reached that point where I don't think I'd be that bothered if I stopped reading DC comics altogether. There's really not a DC book that I REALLY look forward to every month. Not even Batman anymore. And the more things DC does(the infamous Facebook poll, ignoring fans wishes, burying characters the powers that be don't care for, the cancellation and repackaging of Hellblazer, which was the real tipping point for me), the more I realize they could care less about fans like me. So yeah, I'll throw all of my comic book money towards Marvel then. But unless there is a major upheaval at DC, I can seriously see myself down to maybe 4 or 5 DC books come the Spring. Whew, there's my mini-DC rant for the day. That always makes me feel better!

I just couldn't take it anymore! Seriously, I'm really struggling just to stay engaged with "Nightwing" and "RHatO," so I didn't really feel like I had the extra energy to also fight my growing dislike of pretty much everything about "Superboy" and "Teen Titans." Plus, Marvel NOW! has all sorts of new series that look intriguing to me and it was getting hard to be spending my money on those two series rather than, say, "Captain Marvel" or "Iron Man." So, they're gone and, honestly, "Nightwing" and "RHatO" are hanging by a thread. If I were really being honest, I would say that the only DC titles that I consistently enjoy are "Batgirl" and "Earth 2." Snyder lost me a bit with the disappointing ending to "Night of the Owls," though I'm optimistic about the "Batman" issues of "Death of the Family." I think after "Death" ends, I'm going to re-evaluate all my Bat-family books and see where I go from there. It's disappointing, just when you think of how awesome the DCnU could've been and where we are now.

HA! See, sometimes the only thing you need to make you feel better is a rant against DC! It works for me every time!
For me, I'm almost... idk, stuck with Red Hood and Nightwing. I have nearly every Jason Todd appearance, from both his firsts(pre and post the first Crisis) and Nightwing has been a favorite of mine since I got into DC(with my well known sidekick obsession). Hell, JT found my blog while searching for Nightwing stories, which I had tons of since I picked up the whole NW series from eBay and posted TONS of reviews! I know both series are terrible, but I just can't cut the cord. Believe it or not, I'd probably drop Batman before Red Hood. That's how strong my fandom of Jason Todd is.
Teen Titans is another problem book for me in that regard. I have the full Impulse, Young Justice, Robin and Teen Titans runs. I genuinely liked the pre-reboot versions of Bart Allen and Tim Drake, to the extent that they'd both be around the top of my favorite comic character list. The series has been bad. The characters are different. But I just can't seem to let it go... I keep hoping and hoping things get better, even though I'm pretty sure they won't. But knowing myself, I'll probably keep buying the title and hoping for the best...
At the end of the day it seems the Great DC Reboot has turned into what I most feared it would... A place where characters I liked have been altered(or just vanished altogether), stories have failed(mostly) and, almost unbelievably, we're more confusing origin-wise than the pre-reboot DCU! I just wish DC would look at how incredibly successful Earth 2 has been on the sales charts and give us an Earth-3 or an Earth-0, or anything really, where we can read about the characters in the pre-reboot again... Hell, just ONE book with a rotating cast of characters would be good enough for me... But sadly, for as long as Didio and Johns are entrenched as tippy top guys, that's probably never gonna happen. Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait a few years until DC needs another ridiculous stunt to gain readers and we get some sort of DC un-reboot...
