I'm not planning on checking out the Green Lantern movie, but for those of you who are interested, either talk about it here, or make a new thread.

I voted possibly, but considering IGN gave it a 2 outta five stars that doesn't really help. On the other hand I had NO interest in seeing Thor and I've heard that was great, and I has no interest in First Class, which I loved.

Damn, IGN gave it TWO stars! Hmm, that doesn't bode well for that movie... Speaking of which, according to Rotten Tomatoes, First Class got an impressive 87% score, while Green Lantern got an AWFUL 23%!! That's incredibly bad!!! Ouch!

Damn! I knew IGN gave it a bad rating but I didn't know RT gave them a pretty crappy score too. Glad they gave First Class some great ratings but yeah, this is NOT making me wanna see GL at all.

Yeah that just sucks... I'm wondering if this will hurt Reynold's playing Deadpool or no. I'm hoping he does play DP cause I know he's a comic fan and has mentioned quite a few times that he's a really big fan of the Deadpool character.

Yeah.... God that was sucky. Also, in Wolverine Origins didn't Emma have a sister? Does she?

Yes she does. Two actually, and a brother. I think both of her sisters are evil, and I think Emma killed one of 'em after that sister killed one of Emma's Gen X students. As for the brother, I vaguely recall mention of Emma having a brother somewhere, but I'm kind of blanking on that...

Interesting... I can't wait until Schism starts so I can read some X-Men stuff, and of course, choose who I wanna side with. Still contemplating siding with Cyclops just to piss you off

I will probably rent Green Lantern on Blu-ray, but that's only because I rent just about everything that comes out sooner or later. I've never had any interest in seeing it in theaters, and the fact that Mr. Popper's Penguins has a significantly better score on Rotten Tomatoes only seals the deal for me.
Also, I liked X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Not the mouthless Deadpool part, but the rest of it. The scenes with Reynolds actually playing Deadpool in the beginning were just about perfect.

We're gonna come to blows during Schism, aren't we, JT? the fact that Mr. Popper's Penguins has a significantly better score on Rotten Tomatoes only seals the deal for me. That's both incredibly sad and hilarious to me, Marc... I actually SAW Wolvie Origins(shocking, I know!), but wasn't a huge fan, they played too fast and loose with the facts there... Considering what happened to Wade in that one, how exactly do they do a DP movie? Origins/First Class style?

Rather than seeing the Deadpool thing as them "ruining" the character, I just saw it as "something that happens to Deadpool." Surely, stranger (and more seemingly irrevocable) things have happened to Deadpool in the comics, and he's come out just fine from them. I don't see any reason why he can't come out of the movie thing just fine too.
Heck, they wouldn't even need to address it directly in a Deadpool movie. They could be flippant about it...
Random Character: Hey, wasn't your mouth removed by Weapon X when they gave you a whole bunch of mutant powers?
Deadpool: Yeah, I found a loophole in my contract and got out of it. No big!
They could do something like that...sort of like the way they write Austin Powers' love interest from the first movie out of the second one within the first five minutes. And it would be in keeping with the funny/ridiculous nature of the character at the same time.
