So this is gonna be the big Jeph Loeb project with Ed McGuinness in December... 5 letters followed by Reborn. It seems the odds on favorites would be Cable, Bucky or Torch Reborn. Loeb had a long run on Cable, which I guess makes that the most likely, since you'd think Hickman would be the guy to bring back the Torch and Brubaker/Fraction would deal with Bucky's death. As a fan of Nate Grey, the thought of a returning Cable does absolutely nothing for me...
Loeb's current works have been mainly the Hulk and Ultimate books, so the mysetry character in question could easily come from one of those areas as well.

I wish it were Bucky, but I'm still thinking/hoping Bucky somehow comes back at the end of Fear Itself...

I would guess Cable. Both Loeb and McGuinness have worked with the character in the past, and McGuinness is no stranger to the X-universe (having drawn Cable's friend/enemy Deadpool in his first ongoing series for quite some time). Honestly, I'm fine with them doing this, because I don't want Loeb anywhere near Bucky or any characters I care about.  |

For me, I'd rather Cable stayed dead, and Nate took over the spot of resident Nathan Summers/Grey, but what can ya do? Maybe there's some HUGE underground, "Bring back Cable!!!" movement I'm totally oblivious to... |

If there is, I sure haven't heard of it! I don't have anything against Cable, although personally, I'd much rather see Nightcrawler or Banshee come back. But I don't really care, just as long as it isn't Jean Grey.
